How a Group Ecard Works

🔗

Start It and Share the Link

Pick the occasion, add who it is for, and let AI write the opening message. Then copy one link into your group chat, team channel or email thread.

✍️

Everyone Signs Their Own Message

Each person opens the link in any browser, adds a name and a message, and can attach a GIF or sticker. No account and no app. Up to 15 sign free.

✨

You Send It by Link or Email

When enough people have signed, share the link yourself, or with a free account email the card to the recipient right away or on the morning that matters.

Popular Ways to Use a Group Card

What Is Free and What Is Optional

Starting a free group card costs nothing, and neither does signing one. Free means the card itself, an AI-written opening message, preset art, up to 15 people signing, and sharing by link. Nobody needs an account to start a card or to sign it, and nobody needs an app. A free account (no payment) adds the organizer tools: emailing the card to the recipient, now or at a date and time you choose, removing a signature that does not belong, and an AI summary of the messages. The upgrades are separate and optional: unlimited signers for groups bigger than 15, Custom Art (AI-made artwork in place of the preset art) and Magic Video. You can skip all of them and still send a complete card.

How to Make a Group Birthday Card

A group birthday card is the most common group card people make, and it works the same for a coworker, a friend or a family member. Start it three or four days ahead so everyone has time. Pick the occasion, add the birthday person’s name, choose a Style and let AI write the opening message. Paste the link into the group chat or email thread, and say who it is for and when you plan to send it. For a surprise, keep the link out of the birthday person’s own chats. On the morning of the birthday, share the link, or email the card with a free account. If you would rather not be up early, schedule that email ahead of time.

What Signers See

Signers open the link in any browser, on a phone or a computer. They see the card and the messages already signed, then add their name (up to 30 characters) and a message (up to 200 characters). They can also attach a GIF, a sticker or a short clip from a built-in search. They cannot upload their own photos. There is no account, no app and no sign-up, so the people who never register for anything can still join in. Because it is a digital group card, distance does not matter: remote teammates and relatives in other time zones sign the same online group card from wherever they are. Signing is available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German and Arabic.

Group Cards for Coworkers

A group card for coworkers is where this works best. Instead of carrying a paper card from desk to desk, you send one link and everyone signs when they have a minute, including teammates who work remotely. Use it for a group farewell card when someone moves on, a group retirement card, a work anniversary or a welcome for a new hire. It also suits a group sympathy card for a colleague who has lost someone, where a few honest words from many people matter more than polish. If a message does not belong, the organizer can remove it. Removing a signature needs a free account.

What the AI Does and Does Not Do

AI writes the card’s opening message for free, in about 60 seconds, from the occasion and a few details you give it. After that, the signatures are written by your group, in their own words. With a free account, you can also ask AI to write a short summary that ties the signatures together. That is a button you press, not something that happens on its own. Free cards use preset art. AI-made artwork is Custom Art, an optional upgrade. Use as much or as little of the AI as you like: a group greeting card works fine with nothing but human messages under the opening note.

When to Send Your Group Card

Pick a signing deadline and tell people in the same message as the link. The card does not close by itself, so you decide when it is ready. Check the messages, remove anything that does not belong, and then send. You can share the link in any chat app or text message, or email it straight to the recipient. Sending by email, right away or at a date and time you choose, needs a free account. The recipient opens the card in a browser, with no account and no app, and sees the card and everyone’s messages. They can also send a card back.

Group Card FAQs

Is a group card really free?
Yes. Starting a card, the AI-written opening message, preset art, up to 15 signers and sharing by link are all free. Unlimited signers, Custom Art and Magic Video are optional upgrades. You never need them to send a complete card.
Do signers need an account?
No. Anyone with the link can open the card and sign it in any browser, with no sign-up and no app. You do not need an account to start a group card either. A free account is only needed for organizer extras like sending by email, removing messages and the AI summary.
How many people can sign a group card?
Up to 15 people can sign for free, and the card, the AI opening message and sharing by link stay free too. If your team, class or family is bigger, an optional upgrade unlocks unlimited signers.
Can signers see the other messages?
Yes. When someone opens the signing page they see the card and the messages already signed. The recipient also sees the card with everyone’s messages. If you do not want a message shown, the organizer can remove it with a free account.
Can I remove a message someone posted?
Yes. The organizer can remove any signature from the card. This needs a free account, which costs nothing to create.
Can I schedule a group card to arrive on a certain day?
Yes. Add the recipient’s email and choose a date and time, and the card is sent then. Sending by email, now or scheduled, needs a free account. You can also skip email and share the link yourself whenever you like.
How do I make a group birthday card?
Start a card, choose birthday as the occasion and add the person’s name. Let AI write the opening message, then paste the link into your group chat a few days ahead. When the signatures are in, share the link or schedule the email for the morning of the birthday.
Can people add GIFs or photos?
Signers can attach a GIF, a sticker or a short clip from a built-in search. They cannot upload their own photos. Each message can be up to 200 characters, along with the attachment.
Can we collect money for a gift?
No. Xwish does not collect money. If your group is chipping in for a gift, set up a separate gift link somewhere else and paste it into the group chat next to the card link.
